Virginia Beach, VA – Studio Center announces Chris Karvellas as the new Creative Director/Director of Photography for Studio Center. He will be overseeing all aspects of direction and photography for the film and video division.
Karvellas has over 25 years in experience in Film and Television working as a Director and Director of Photography. Having been a part of award winning efforts for programming such as: HBO's Real Sports, New York Yankees feature work for their network, “Madison Square Garden Network” and the “YES Network” (Yankees Entertainment and Sports) as well as feature work for the New York Mets; he brings a wide scope of knowledge and talent to the Studio Center table.
His work has been seen on Biography, History Channel, MTV, VH1, Discovery, Lifetime, Food Network, Speed Channel, Fox Sunday Night Hoops, Major League Baseball, NBC, ABC and he’s done feature work for CBS National News. He spent three years producing and directing national commercials and image features for the Ladies Professional Golf Association.
He's directed and DP'd both film and video commercials nationally and regionally. Most recently he’s completed DP duties on the independent film, “House of Fallen”, shot in Hampton Roads—soon to be headed to a variety of film festivals and later released to the public.

Chris is a native of Baltimore and attended University of Maryland. He played professional soccer for two years (Kansas City Comets and the Buffalo Stallions) and in between he worked as a dresser on Broadway for the Tony award-winning actor, Len Cariou.
Studio Center produces radio, film & video TV commercials, documentaries, CD-ROMS, in addition to in-flight entertainment, computer games, toys, corporate training programs and in-store announcements for clients in all 50 states and provides foreign voice-overs for 23 countries around the world.
