The ASK
Part of what makes your smart tech so smart, is training. Studio Center was asked to handle recording and production of U.S. native English voices for Bixby, Samsung’s voice supported interface. Developers needed LOTS of everyday voices to train it to respond to a wide range of prompts. They wanted an equal number of males and females ages 18-60 and a balance of ages across both genders.
The Approach
We got to work finding all kinds of everyday voices and scheduling sessions. We tested every studio to meet the required sound quality. Each person read around 100 phrases, multiple ways, with different inflection and pacing. Our audio engineers made sure we captured everything requested and then some! Our project manager made sure we stayed on or ahead of schedule.
The Results
Over a three month period…
We found and scheduled more than 150 people for multiple recording sessions. We produced and delivered every piece of audio to specifications. We feel proud to have provided Bixby developers a key part of their app training equation. Our recordings helped them achieve the level of performance we all know and expect from our smartphones and technology.
