MEAC Brand Awareness Campaign
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference is an NCAA Division I member, composed of eight outstanding Historically Black Institutions along the Atlantic coastline. The conference sponsors multiple sports and events, notably the annual MEAC Basketball Tournament, in which winners earn automatic bids to the NCAA D1 Tournament.
GOAL / IDEATION
We have conceptualized and produced multiple videos for MEAC over the past 12 years. We’re sharing several of them in this proposal. The goal for most of them was to create excitement and hype for MEAC events, Football games, and their annual Basketball tournament.
Larger than Life - Telly Award Winner

The concept for Larger than Life was to convey the large scale of talent, energy, and determination of the different teams as they come to play in this important tournament.
In some of the videos, like Traditions, we incorporated scenes of students in the classroom and at graduation to reference MEAC’s unique positioning and support for academics for their student-athletes.

PROJECT DETAILS
For Larger than Life we shot on location for b-roll of popular areas in downtown Norfolk, where the tournament was being held. In our Virginia Beach studio, we got shots of MEAC student athletes acting out specific movements using our 25-foot, green screen cyclorama wall as the backdrop. The movements are those you see of the players in the video, stepping over well-known landmarks in downtown Norfolk. We used 2D animation and end card animation to achieve the finished product.

MEAC Football - Behind the Scenes
For the Celebration Bowl - Football Video, we shot exclusively in our Virginia Beach studio with student athletes from all divisions participating in the shoot. We used a smoke machine and strategic lighting to add a dramatic and intimidating feel to the shots of the players. The footage from this shoot was also used for multiple other videos in subsequent years.
